When can I post active hyperlinks?
QuestionsForSLP uses a points and level system based on trust. To protect all of the QuestionsForSLP community against malicious links and spam, the ability to post active hyperlinks is only earned once an account reaches Level 2.
URLs will still be visible when posted by Level 1 users but will not be active. To visit a URL posted by a Level 1 user it will be necessary to take the action of copying and pasting the URL into your browser. You should only take this action if you are certain the URL is safe and not a security threat to your computer.
What is QuestionsForSLP?
With more than 21 million unique users in the U.S. and 90 million worldwide, QuestionsForSLP is one of the largest knowledge-sharing communities on the Web. It’s an online community where anyone can ask and answer questions pertaining to Speech Language Pathology ranging from general questions to Developmental Disorders. QuestionsForSLP connects people to the information they’re seeking with those who know it. There are a lot of people that has life experience and knowledge about Speech Language Pathology, and QuestionsForSLP provides a way for people to share their experience and insight.
How is QuestionsForSLP different from a message board or chat room?
QuestionsForSLP is a place for people to ask and answer questions in order to share knowledge.
Unlike a chat room, QuestionsForSLP is not a place for people to ask each other how they're doing or "talk" when they're bored.
Unlike a message board, where a thread of messages can continue indefinitely without ever getting resolved, the questions in QuestionsForSLP are resolved when a best answer is picked. After questions are resolved, members who have reached Level 2 can rate the Best Answer and everyone in the community can continue to share their opinions.
Does it cost money to participate on QuestionsForSLP?
Nope, that's one of the best things about QuestionsForSLP --it's absolutely free. All you have to do is sign in to your QuestionsForSLP account to share in the wealth of knowledge generated by the QuestionsForSLP community.
How does the scoring system work?
To thank the QuestionsForSLP community for great answers, we give points for various actions. Answers points help you build your reputation on QuestionsForSLP and show the world what you have to offer. You need points to ask a question but you can quickly earn the points back when you resolve your question and by giving answers that are picked as the best answer.
The points table below summarizes how many points you get for each of the different actions you take. The points allow the community to recognize how active and helpful you've been, and they give you another excuse to brag to your friends.

I have multiple e-mail accounts. Can I use these accounts to participate as different people?
No, you cannot. Using multiple accounts to participate at QuestionsForSLP is a violation of QuestionsForSLP terms and conditions and may result in the suspension of your accounts. Please refer to our terms and conditions for guidance on acceptable behavior.
Once you’ve logged in, just:
· Click Question at the top-left corner of any page.
· Type in your question. (Similar questions may appear underneath as you type, so if someone already asked the same question, you might not have to.)
· Add any details that will help people answer it.
· Select the most relevant category for your question.
· Enter tags relative to your question
· If the question looks ok to you, click Post Question.
Remember: the clearer your question is to people reading it, the more likely it is you'll get really good answers. It’s often useful to provide additional information to further clarify your question in the Details section.
Taking the time to choose the best category for your question will also help make sure it's seen by the people most able to answer your question.
What do I have to do once my question has been answered?
Once your question has been posted for at least 1 hour, you can:
· Choose the best answer (must have at least one answer): Click Choose as Best Answer next to your chosen answer. Your question is considered "resolved" when a best answer is selected.
· Let the QuestionsForSLP ' community choose the best answer (must have at least two answers.
Do I lose points if my question or answer is deleted by Customer Care?
If your question or answer is deleted by Customer Care, you will lose 10 points.
You will receive a violation notice email informing you of the reason for the deletion. If you feel the question or answer did not violate the QuestionsForSLP Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, you may appeal the deletion.
How does Community Moderation work?
Community reporting empowers reliable QuestionsForSLP users to help us more quickly remove inappropriate questions & answers. Members of the community who reliably identify and report questions and answers will have more influence than others. If a question or answer is reported by one or more reliable users, it will be removed.
Why is my image a grey face?
Showing a gray face as your display image means:
• You have not selected an image or avatar to use
• We no longer store a previous image you have used
• We do not have an image stored for you
To review or edit your display image settings:
• Sign in and click the My Profile tab located to the right of the search box.
• Click the Change Photo under the avatar.

To change your password, you need to be logged in with the ID that you want to change.
1. Click on change account password in the upper-right corner.
2. Type in your current password

4. Re-Enter new password
5. Then click Change
